Company portrait
Our products promise cleanliness on the one hand and a clean environment on the other.
Master baker Norbert Zielinsky Sr.(1951-2013) banned the common corrosive and toxic cleaning devils from his bakery in the early 1980s, looking for gentle alternatives. For years, the baker experimented with ever new recipes to clean his trays, bowls and wooden boards. In 1984 Zielinsky, together with his wife Gabriele, finally found the ideal mixture of natural ingredients: His ideal cleaning agent gets to the bottom of grease and grime with soap flakes as well as green soap. Natural abrasive particles, finest polishing clay, rub even stubborn dirt off sensitive surfaces without leaving scratches. A pinch of glycerin makes water roll off cleaned surfaces, and a hint of lemon oil gives the composition a fresh scent.
All components are free of toxins and acids, fully biodegradable, phosphate-free and skin-friendly. In a 20-liter saucepan, his wife Gaby stirred the mixture together on the stove at home and filled it into containers. Since the universal mixture contains very little water and becomes rock-hard at the end of the production process, the couple christened their invention Universal Stone.
In the beginning, the family only used the practical cleaning agent in their own household. Then they started selling small quantities at weekly markets in the area. The result: the stone sold like hot cakes. Soon Norbert Zielinsky was no longer earning his daily bread with bread rolls but only with the universal stone.
On 15 November 1988, the name and the corresponding white tree logo on a green background are protected as a trademark.
Since then, the Zielinsky universal stone has become an indispensable cleaning aid all over the world
From the beginning, the company has been in family hands, today already in the second generation.
The products from Zielinsky are manufactured exclusively in Germany, here in Uplengen in East Frisia
