Hallberg-Rassy 29

Rossignol is our most popular boat in the entire fleet. She is an amazing small and safe boat. You will not get a better boat that combines comfort, aesthetics and sailing characteristics for a small crew.

Hallberg-Rassy stopped production of the HR 29 in the early 1990's, but were in the about 10 years the boat was produced. We refurbished our HR 29, Rossignol, | . from bow to stern and added the full teak deck, which is what it became in 2013.

Hallberg-Rassy 342

The Hallberg-Rassy 342 is a modern and well-sailing long-distance cruiser, and the German sailing magazine Yacht writes about the boat:

"Designer German Frers has given this best-seller more comfort and more elegant lines. The sailing characteristics are impressive. Even in light winds, the speed of the boat increases quite effortlessly in the smallest gusts. She responds immediately to rudder control, but not nervously. From the moment you set sail, she conveys a sense of security, a feeling that remains even when the wind is fresh. The hull and deck are fully laminated and molded in a polyester blend, resulting in a compromised hull that gives the boat a more comfortable sail at sea.

The high standards of boatbuilding apply throughout the construction process and stand out clearly even to the layman. It is not only the precisely matched joinery interior, the dimensions and the feel of the mahogany with its lacquer finish that give the boat its gentle grace. Hallberg-Rassy is also ahead of its competitors in the hidden areas. For example, all the heating hoses are doubled to minimise heat loss. The water pump is not just installed wherever there was room, but is carefully fitted to the insulated engine room on rubber feet to reduce noise levels. All of these things are a testament to Hallberg-Rassy's dedication to constantly pushing the envelope to provide their customers with the ideal cruising vessel."

The spacious big sister
The new Hallberg-Rassy 342 is a fast touring boat that combines sailing pleasure with comfortable space. The Hallberg-Rassy 342 is a new design from 2006 that offers a bit more of everything that already made the HR 34 a success. Keywords like sailing pleasure, timeless elegance, high comfort, beautiful woodwork and easy handling apply to both models. However, the new HR 342 makes noticeably better use of its space.

But of course that comes at a price.

If we are to find a difference between HR 34 and 342, in our opinion the new Hallberg-Rassy 342 does not have quite as elegant lines as its predecessor, but sails a bit faster off the wind, but not against the wind - there the original HR 34 is just superb sailing and therefore a comparison is kind of unfair.

The forward hoop is much slimmer in the waterline and therefore carries less; this unfortunately results in a higher freeboard and not quite as elegant lines, but you get good protection in the cockpit and a dry sailing experience in rough seas. To ensure that all our customers have full control of the boat during port manoeuvres in crosswinds, despite the high freeboard, we have prioritised bow thrusters as standard on both our HR 342s.

In this Hallberg Rassy 40, craftsmanship reaches new heights and is combined with unparalleled elegance. Frers expertise has contributed to hull, rudder and keel designs that offer a longer waterline than comparable boats.

About us

Company portrait

We know the boats inside out and know what it takes to keep their elegant appearance and unique sailing qualities. The sailing qualities are precisely preserved through a combination of Hallberg-Rassy's design and craftsmanship and thorough and professional maintenance and good equipment. That is our recipe for good experiences at sea.

Most people are surprised when they see our boats for the first time and many say, "Think that's a rental boat!" . Of course scratches and small equipment lockers can't be avoided, each vessel has its own story, but common to all is that maintenance and condition are paramount. That's why our boats are always functional and ready to go. We don't compromise on maintenance and safety on board, and we're proud of that!

We maintain the boats ourselves from the inside out, we paint the bottom every year, the boats are covered in winter, the bottom is cleaned, upholstery, carpets etc. are cleaned, all the accommodation is oiled, cleaned and polished, the masts are treated and polished, the ropes are washed, our sails are checked annually by the sailmaker and we could go on for so long. Everything is checked and we prefer to check once too much every year!
